About Me
Welcome to my blog! Here’s a little about me: I’m Jennifer Roberts, a proud Army Reserve Veteran, having honorably served my country for over 25 years. During that time, I raised three wonderful children and followed my Active-Duty husband up and down the East Coast before finally settling in Maryland.
Professionally, I’ve worn many hats—a grammar teacher, business owner, and personal trainer. I’ve also dedicated time to volunteering in the Juvenile Court System and am a current member of Moms Demand Action, part of Everytown for Gun Safety.
I’m deeply passionate about the environment, equality, and the true meaning of being an American. My beliefs are strong, but they’re shaped by a foundation in logic, ethics, and the seven Army Values: Honor, Integrity, Personal Courage, Respect, Duty, Selfless Service, and Loyalty.
As an author, I aim to speak to the core of today’s issues with a barebones, no-nonsense approach. My writing is conversational and timely—crafted to resonate with younger generations of adults. With three young adult children of my own, I reflect on how our education system intersects with the stages of human development. Often, what we learn in school doesn’t stick with us, and we are shaped more by the influence of our peers than the lessons taught in class. These realities drive my focus on critical thinking and uncovering facts in a world full of opinions, all with a touch of my sometimes-quirky sense of humor.
This blog is my space to share thoughts on political, social, and cultural issues shaping our world. I look forward to engaging in meaningful, productive conversations with you.
When I’m not writing, you’ll find me trying (and often failing) to keep up with my silly, spirited Bernedoodle—or being bossed around by my very opinionated “cog” (cat-dog hybrid). I cherish time with family, enjoy working out, and, of course, love putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard).
Here are some adorable photos of my two “co-workers”!
